Woke up to the beauty of Sekinchan
Morning dew on the paddy
Sekinchan, known as the rice bowl of Selangor, has 2 harvesting season - once in May/June and once in October/November. Just a 1.5 hours drive from Kuala Lumpur, Sekinchan a famous spot for day trips, but I personally recommend staying the night. Both the sunrise and sunset over the paddy fields look gorgeous.
This was quite an impromptu trip as I didn't want to miss the harvesting season and its golden paddy fields. Thankfully the place we were staying at still had rooms and a viewing deck on the top floor. Standing on top of a swallow birdhouse-turned-homestay, I was able to see the breathtaking view of the fields during sunrise.

Be sure to check out this café located right in the middle of the paddy field. We were late by a day as they have just harvested the paddy right in front of the café the very same morning. I can only imagine how beautiful it would be with the golden paddy.

Exploring the fields in the morning and evening is the best time as afternoon can be uncomfortably hot. Make sure to stay hydrated when you there. Have fun!
