Lotuses are associated with the Hindu goddesses Lakshmi and Vishnu who are often depicted sitting on a lotus flower throne or holding lotuses in their hands. In Hinduism, lotus flowers also represent spiritual enlightenment, beauty, fertility, purity, prosperity and eternity.
