MRIGADAYAVAN PALACE

This palace was a seaside palace of His Majesty King Rama IV who ruled Siam from 1910 to 1925. He visited this palace twice during his reign.  Around 1917, the king had suffered from rheumatoid arthritis and his physician suggested that he sojourn in a warm and airy seaside climate, thus this palace was constructed in 1923. There are 16 building of golden teak, in Thai-Victorian style, all connected by elevated airy walkways designed to catch breezes in all directions.

Getting here : Requires a drive, thus we took a day tour package with few location.

KHAO LUANG CAVE

Located approximately 5km from Khao Wang. From the foot hill, there are concrete staircases leading to the cave entrance. Khao Luang is a small sized hill with a height of 92m at the peak. However, it is regarded as the largest & most important cave at Pretchaburi province becaused the important ornamented Buddha image built by King Rama V and dedicated to King Rama III and IV is enshrined here.

KHAO WANG

King Rama IV ordered the construction of this summer palace south of Bangkok and in 1858 the project was completed and formally named Phra Nakhon Khiri which is also known as Khao Wang, the Palace Hill. In its heyday, this was a thriving complex of religious buildings, villas and throne halls. Rama IV and Rama V used Phra Nakhon Khiri as a summer palace and a place to entertain important guests.

Cost : 200 Baht for the cable car and museum ticket.
Please note that there are some legwork required to get to the main pagoda and viewing point. Not recommended for young kids / elderly especially during hot weather.

SANTORINI PARK

Santorini Park brings a slice of the picture-perfect Greek island to Cha-Am. From classic whitewashed buildings, colourfully painted windows, down to stone-paved paths and domed towers. This photogenic outdoor entertainment outlet occupies an expansive area just before the main highway reaches Cha-Am Beach.

CAMEL REPUBLIC

Camel Republic offers the perfect blend of activities for animal lovers and thrill seekers.
We were not planning to visit this but we had to choose a location in our package. And we chose this as this was opposite Santorini Park and we never regretted it as it was the first time I met a real camel & llama!

HUA HIN BEACH + NIGHT MARKET

We also took a walk to Hua Hin's main beach which is a 4km white, sandy strip that fringe the Gulf of Thailand. It stretches from the town centre to Khao Takiap.
A well earned foot massage was perfect with a glass of Thai Beer to end the eventful day.
