Japan Trip : Day 6 - First Onsen Experience

Day 5 : Tokyo > Hakone

Day 6 mainly consist of travelling and we were dead tired from all the walking in Tokyo.
So this was the perfect place to relax and of course for a nice dip in the onsen.

We took the train from Shinjuku station to Odawara station for 1,710 yen because we wanted to place our bags in the lockers.
Another option is going on the Romantic Express Train (Yes, it has a super cheesy name)
which takes you straight to Hakone.

I would suggest buying the Hakone Free days pass for 4,000 yen which covers most transport within Hakone (including the Ropeways)

 Volcanic Fumes

Sengokuhara Pampas Grass Field

My sister asked why do you want to see it in Japan, there is alot of these at Broga Hill.
Well, I could only give two reasons.

No.1 - I never been to Broga Hill
No.2 - I seen lots of pretty pictures online about this place.

They say you might be able to see Mt Fuji if the weather is good.

Pirate ships are included in the Pass.
Checked in our hostel and this would be the prettiest place we stayed throughout the place.
Plus point is that it has its own onsen. yay!

Bathing area (pic from website)
Before entering the onsen, you are required to bath here.
Yes bath with other strangers naked.
It might seem weird for us, but it is actually normal for them.
Outdoor Onsen (pic from website)
I actually tried both as they set a certain time for indoor and outdoor for male & female.
I was nervous to be bathing with strangers.
But I was in a 'YOLO' mode because I would regret not doing so.
I was the first in the group to try it out and I forced everyone to go for it afterwards as it was awesome!
I was the 3rd in the onsen and when i left there were 6 people already.
It was a blessing in disguise I wasn't wearing my glasses cause everything seem blurry. In a good way.

Indoor Onsen (pic from website)
After dinner, I tried the indoor onsen.
Where I met this Canadian girl and we just chatted for 10 mins before leaving.
It was a fun experience and it helped to reduce the awkwardness.
After the bath, I could feel the heat coming off me.
But muscles are relaxed.
And from what I heard, it was a sausage party in the guys onsen.

Anyways, here is the link for the hostel we stayed.
Accommodation in Hakone is actually more expensive than other places.
But this was definitely worth it as it comes with an in house onsen.
