Japan Trip : Day 1 & Overview

My wish every year is to go some where new.
This year it was Japan.

We traveled to the land of the rising sun on the 16th and departed on the 27th.
We managed to cover a lot of places during this short period of time with a very good price.
All in all we spent less than RM5,000 for all transportation, accommodation, food, and some shopping.

What to wear in Japan in October?
The weather in Japan during my trip was just nice with a jacket which you can wear when it is cold and take off when it is hot. I would say most of the time the temperature was 18-20 Celsius.

What to pack/do before travelling to Japan?
1. Travel Adapters
2. Fold-able Umbrella
3. Jacket
4. Clean Socks
5. Comfy Shoes
6. Google translate
(Comes really handy when you snap a picture, highlight the items you want to translate and it does it works)
7. Subway App
(Cause you can easily get lost and might cause you alot, we used Hypedia which we downloaded when we reached Japan cause it cannot be downloaded in Malaysia :(
But other subway apps are also good.
8. Gurunavi for food recommendation.

But for now, follow me as i re-live this amazing adventure!

DAY 1 : 16th October (Travelling Day)

Flight : Air Asia X
Price : RM350 + Luggage
Duration : 6 Hours 40 Minutes
Departure : 2:30 PM
Arrival : 10:00 PM +
(note : Japan is an hour ahead of Malaysia.)

Since our flight reached quite late at night, we decided to just sleep at the airport for a few hours before moving out to the city as the train services out stops at midnight. Taxi would be plain expensive.  Thus, we were taking out sweet time to collect our luggage.
But it proved to be not a good choice. Apparently someone mistook my luggage as theirs when theirs had such a big ribbon and tag.

Lesson learnt : Make a bigger marking when using free luggage bags.
Had to report to the baggage customer service and they were really helpful and you can see they are really trying their best to recover it.
Unfortunately, the person who mistook my luggage was an Uncle so whatsapp was out of the question. Was worried if my sister and I only have to survive with 2 sets of clothes the whole trip as we shared the luggage.

Thankfully around 1am, they realized they took the wrong luggage and called me.
His daughter promised to returned the luggage to me at my airbnb station.
And the rest was history :)

Suica Card : A must buy when travelling around Japan. Usable on almost all public transport.
Purchased for 2,000 Yen. Usable credit is 1,500 Yen while the other 500 Yen is like a deposit.
Can be claimed back in Haneda Airport.

Bump Spray : I was able to experience the infamous Japanese toilets. And I love it to bits!
Simple yet interesting buttons ranging from flush sounds to adjusting bum dryer temperature.
